Celebrating 125 Years of The Turn of The Screw

When the Folio Society contacted me with regards to their new edition of Henry James’ Turn of the Screw, commemorating 125 years since the story had been published, I jumped at the chance! Being a self-confessed ghost story addict I would still say that this is one of the best ghost stories ever written, it has all the components to cool my blood: creepy children, pursuit, an entity that wants to get in, a large ‘unquiet’ house, unsettling backstory, strange deaths and of course, a woman at the centre of it all trying desperately to protect the children in her charge (and her sanity).

The Folio Society edition of The Turn of the Screw illustrated by Audrey Benjaminsen and Introduced by Colm Tóibín, is exclusively available from foliosociety.com

When this edition arrived I was truly awestruck with the quality of the illustrations – an area of presentation that The Ghastling strives for. It really is something to behold, and for anybody looking to add to their library, I recommend this edition. So, happy birthday to James’ Turn of the Screw! – the original and best, may generations of ghost story enthusiasts enjoy this story! – Rebecca Parfitt, Editor, The Ghastling
